General Notes:

a.	Original total of 73 D&RGW units; 69 units went to UP at merger; SP retired four units (D&RGW 5348, 5370, 5402, and 5408) prior to the merger.
b.	Of the 69 units to UP at merger, 16 units (D&RGW 5350, 5351, 5352, 5362, 5364, 5366, 5368, 5378, 5380, 5387, 5388, 5393, 5394, 5397, 5399, and 5412) had been repainted to SP; ownership of 13 units (excluding D&RGW 5362, 5364, and 5366) was transferred to SP at the same time.
c.	Total of 69 D&RGW units assigned UP 4000-4068 in September 1997, 22 units renumbered; changed to the UP 8570-8638 in December 1999; assigned numbers in UP 2866-2949 group in August 2000, along with 62 refurbished former SP/SSW units.
d.	Renumbered to UP 8570-8638 series (not consecutive).

Note:

1.	UP 4064, as SP 5380, was wrecked (grade crossing accident) on 9 June 1999 near Hope, Minn; cab torn from frame; repaired by Mid America Car, Kansas City, Mo.; renumbered to UP 4064 upon completion of repairs.
