General Notes:

a. Built new for Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific, Union Pacific, and Denver and Rio Grande Western between 1950 and 1954. Units purchased from original owners by Precision National Corp. (PNC), Mount Vernon, Illinois, in 1974 and 1975. The units were leased back to CRI&P after being rebuilt for PNC by CRI&P at Silvis, Illinois, by Morrison Knudsen at Boise, Idaho, and by Illinois Central Gulf at Paducah, Illinois Upon CRI&P shut down in April 1980, all units were returned to PNC.
b. C&NW 4104 and 4105 Built as Union Pacific 140 and 144; wrecked in Idaho on UP in October 1974; retired and sold to Precision National in November 1974; wreck damage repaired by Morrison Knudsen for PNC and leased to CRI&P as their 4429 and 4430.
c. C&NW 4116-4118 Built as Denver and Rio Grande Western 5107, 5112, and 5113. D&RGW sold the 3 units to CRI&P in November 1972, becoming CRI&P 4205, 4208, and 4209. CRI&P sold the 3 units to PNC in May 1977 as part of the 120 unit lease fleet for CRI&P.
d. C&NW purchased 119 (109 GP7Rs and 10 GP9Rs) units in February 1981 from PNC, sending 61 older units to PNC as trade-in (these are noted in the roster as "Sold to Precision..., February 1981").
e. C&NW 4111 was among a group of five units (C&NW 4111, 4168, 4173, 4175, and 4188) seen at Oelwein in October 1994 and November 1995.(information from Larry Gholson via email, March 26, 2008)

General Notes:

a. Built new Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific, Wabash, Denver and Rio Grande Western, Nickel Plate, and St. Louis-San Francisco between 1950 and 1953. All units purchased from original owners by Precision National Corp., Mount Vernon, Illinois, in 1974 and 1975. The units were leased back to CRI&P after being rebuilt for PNC by CRI&P at Silvis, Illinois, by Morrison Knudsen at Boise, Idaho, and by Illinois Central Gulf at Paducah, Illinois Upon CRI&P shut down in April 1980, all units were returned to PNC.
b. C&NW 4148 and 4149 were built as D&RGW 5101 and 5105. D&RGW sold the units to CRI&P in November 1972, becoming CRI&P 4200 and 4203. CRI&P traded the two units to PNC in May 1977 as part of the rebuilding of the 120 unit lease fleet for CRI&P. The units were in lease service as PNC 4206 and 4207, painted in yellow and green.
c. C&NW purchased 119 units (109 GP7Rs and 10 GP9Rs) in February 1981 from PNC, sending 61 older units to PNC as trade-in (these are noted in the roster as "Sold to Precision..., February 1981").
