| g. | D&RGW 5571 (along with F3A 5531) was wrecked on 20 November 1953 at Dos, Colo.; the unit received a complete F9A carbody as a result of wreck repairs by EMD in February 1954 under EMD order number 8032; both units were completed with the new gold, silver, and four-black-stripe paint scheme, although 5571 had already been repainted to the new scheme following wreck repairs to 5574 in 1953; later, D&RGW 5571 was one of the last F units in service with the four-stripe paint scheme, repainted to the single stripe scheme in October 1968. |
