  1. Classes MK-1 and MK-2 were classed as Light Mikado; classes MK-3 through MK10 were classed as Heavy Mikado

  3. Five UP 2260 series 2-8-2s were sent to OSL in 1923, as OSL 2500 series locomotives.
  4. Jeff Moore provides the following about UP 2260 and 2261 being sold to Oregon & Northwestern:
  5. Oregon & Northwestern purchased the #2260 and #2261 together in February 1947, they cost $10,000 each.  O&NW also bought twenty flatcars from UP to replace a like number lost in the same wreck as the #26.  Two interesting notes relating to the #2260 and #2261- a year by year summary of the O&NW through the 1940s states "Air failure on Extra 26 South January 28, 1947, resulted in loss of one engine valued at $80,000 which was replaced by 2 engines much older and not as good a type for our operation as Engine 26."  On the other hand, veteran O&NW engineer engineer Lawrence Olson stated in another source the #2260 was "the best engine on the O. and N.W.- it steamed best, handled real good, used less fuel."
  6. Oregon & Northwestern retired both #2260 and #2261 in 1955, right after the AS-616 #1 arrived on the property. The railroad junked the #2260 immediately, but sold the #2261 to Edward Hines Lumber Company, where it replaced the old 2-8-0 #5. The #2261 traded off with the former UP 2-8-0 #529 on the logging railroad east of Seneca until the pair of former Brooks-Scanlon Lumber Company Alco S-3s arrived in 1957. Hines sold the #2261 to the Purdy Company for scrap on 30 November 1957.
