Modern Era Roster Data (2000-2009)

Modern Era Index -- (all units 2000-2009) An index page to Union Pacific's diesel locomotive fleet during the Modern Era that began in the year 2000, stemming from the December 1999 renumber plan that called for the general renumbering of over 3,700 locomotives to accommodate the arrival of 1,000 SD70Ms beginning in 2000. Includes all new units and units retired between 2000 and 2009. (Will not be updated after June 1, 2009)

UPY Units -- An index page to all of Union Pacific's recent, beginning in 2000, UPY (Union Pacific Yard) units, including the UPY 900 series yard slugs and road slugs.

Heritage Fleet Diesel Locomotives -- Information about the diesel locomotives UP has kept to honor its heritage, includes information about UP 949, 951, 963B and 6936.

Fuel Tenders -- Information about UP's natural gas tenders (UPT 1 and 2), and diesel fuel tenders (UPT 5 to UPT 8).

Rock Island to UP Index -- An index page to the former Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific (Rock Island) locomotives that were returned to UP in April 1980 upon the shut down of the Rock Island due to its bankruptcy. Included are units assigned new UP road numbers, and units that were not assigned new UP road numbers.

MP to UP Index -- An index page to the former Missouri Pacific locomotives that came to UP during the 1983 control of MP by UP, including MP units both assigned new UP road numbers, and MP units that were not assigned new UP road numbers.

T&P 815 series renumbered to T&P 3115 series -- A cross-reference lsting with the renumber dates of the T&P 815 series SD40-2s, to the T&P 3115 series. Includes dates for C&EI SD40-2s to the C&EI 3139 series.
