General Notes:

a. UP 9881 was renumbered from UP 5001 (ex MP 5001) on 11 December 1999, just one day after the renumber plan was adopted on 10 December 1999. During February 2000, the renumbering plan was changed to retain all of the former C&NW, D&RGW, and MP SD50s in their original 5000-5111 number group (all 5000 series SD50 were later either renumbered to the 9835 series, or retired, to clear the 5000 series for use by new SD70M units). UP 9881 planned to return to UP 5001; retired prior to be renumbered.
