General Notes:

a. OSL 525-539 were built as OSL 965-979 in 1903 (Vauclain Compound); rebuilt to simple in (?); renumbered to OSL 525-539 in 1915-1916.
b. OSL 526, 528, 529, 530, 531, 533, 535, 537, 538 (9 locomotives) were changed to 200 pounds boiler pressure, with the associated increase of 2,070 pounds in tractive effort, 41,360 pounds compared to 39,290 pounds.
c. OSL 533, 535, 537 were renumbered to OSL 6533, 6535, 6537 in March 1958 to clear the 500 series for use by F9s delivered in May 1958 to February 1959.

Notes:

1. OSL 529 was retired in December 1948 and sold to Edward Hines Lumber Company; donated in 1965 to Northwest Railway Museum (Puget Sound Railway Historical Society), Snoqualmie, Washington.
2. OSL 533 was renumbered to OSL 6533 in March 1958; retired in June 1958 and donated to Rawlins, Wyoming.
3. OSL 535 was renumbered to OSL 6535 in March 1958; retired in March 1959 and donated to Laramie, Wyoming; displayed in LaBonte Park; moved in February 2011 from LaBonte Park, to Depot Park, adjacent to the former Union Pacific depot. (newspaper article)
