Bingham Paint Schemes
All steam locomotives used at Bingham, including the Utah Copper mine operations at Bingham, and the mainline Bingham & Garfield railroad, were all-black with white letters and numbers.
When the electric locomotives began arriving in 1927-1929, they were also painted in the same basic all-black scheme, with white letters and numbers.
In the late 1950s, a few electric locomotives began appearing in a more visible all-yellow scheme.
Then in the very early 1960s, and into the mid 1960s, some electric locomtives were painted in a paint scheme that was mostly yellow, with a bright green side stripe along the frame, and on the cab front and the top of the hoods. The yellow and green scheme was applied to very few electric locomotives, and photos of them are pretty rare.
In the late 1960s, the yellow and black scheme began appearing, and included an vene split between yellow on the lower parts of the locomotive body, and black on the upper parts. The underframe was plain black.
Kennecott Paint Schemes
Diesel locomotives assigned to Ore Haulage Department were painted green with yellow ends and yellow lettering panels.
Diesel locomotives assigned to the Bingham mine were painted a darker yellow, with large numbers in black.
