- LA&SL 3317 had side doors on each side; photos show that Santa Maria Valley number 170 ex LA&SL 3317 had side doors on both sides; the doors on SMV 170 had been blanked out with plain vertical siding indicating that LA&SL 3317 had been equipped with side doors.
Notes:
- LA&SL 3317 was sold to Santa Maria Valley Railroad, Santa Maria, California numbered as SMV 170; sold to local rancher John Loomis in 1963 and placed on his ranch where it remained until he donated it to the Oceano Depot Association in 2004; repainted and displayed alongside the restored former SP Oceano depot adjacent to the Coast Line in Oceano California.
- LA&SL 3324 and 3336 were wrecked on LA&SL.
- LA&SL 3335 and 3339 were sold to Hyman Michaels Company
- LA&SL 3337 is located on private property in Virginia City, Nevada, missing its cupola.

General Notes:
- OWRR&N 3500-3516 were built by Oregon Railway & Navigation in 1882 in their shops in The Dalles, Oregon; confirmed by a door threshold plate on OWRR&N 3505 now in Nevada State Railroad Museum at Boulder City, Nevada.
- OWRR&N 3505 was donated to Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah; moved to Heber City, Utah, in December 1970 on the first train moved from Provo to Heber pulled by UP 2-8-0 618; sold to Nevada State Railroad Museum in 1992 and moved to Boulder City, Nevada, in February 1993; the car has been restored and was repainted in June 2011 to UP's all-yellow scheme with red lettering. (The caboose at Boulder has been confirmed as being the former OWRR&N 3505 by lightly sanding the many layers of paint over the end door.)
