  1. C&NW 1485-1495, 1497, 1498 purchased second-hand from Precision National Corp., Mount Vernon, Illinois, 9 January 1973. All 13 units first leased by C&NW, from PNC, beginning in September 1972. MKT 139 (ex MKT 1584) was intended to be C&NW 1496, but was scrapped by PNC prior to sale to C&NW.
  2. C&NW 1485-1490 had 251,000 pounds operating weight; C&NW 1492-1495 had 260,000 pounds operating weight; C&NW 1497 and 1498 had 262,000 pounds operating weight; C&NW 1491 had 265,000 pounds operating weight.
  3. MKT had 17 units, while still owned by MKT, re-powered by EMD using 1,500 horsepower 16-567C engines and GP9 style long hoods, completed between November 1958 and March 1960 (see MKT roster in Extra 2200 South, Issue 23, June/July 1970, p.21) under EMD rebuild order numbers 8528, 8541, 8542, 8553, and 8564. Upon completion of the re-powering, the units were renumbered to MKT 124, 126-141. MKT sold all 17 units to Precision National Corp. in 1972.
