There were four locos built with the original turret-cab and rounded nose:
- M-10000
- original M-10001 (900 hp)
- second M-10001 (1200 hp)
- M-10002A (1200 hp)
The second M-10001 and the M-10002A are different in the rear truck - M-10001 is articulated, M-10002 is not.
These four locomotive were part of a dedicated trainset.
