General Notes:
- All three locomotives were built as Walla Walla & Columbia River Railroad, a three-feet narrow gauge railroad constructed between Wallula and Walla Walla, Washington in 1872-1875, along with a branch to Blue Mountain, Washington built in 1879; converted to standard gauge in May 1881, with the Blue Mountain Branch remaining narrow gauge until 1883, at which time all three were sold to the Mill Creek Flume & Manufacturing Company, which was later sold to ORy&N in 1887. (Read more about the WW&CR/Mill Creek Flume companies)
- These three locomotives may not have received ORR&N numbers before being vacated in 1896 and 1900.

- The following summarizes the current status of OR&N 197 (from Trainorders.com, December 6, 2010):
- One of three City of Portland Oregon owned locomotives managed by the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation and being restored by the Friends of OR&N 197. This locomotive has strong ties to our City of Portland history as she was purchased by Oregon Railroad & Navigation Company to serve the massive passenger loads visiting Portland for the 1905 Lewis & Clark Centennial Exposition in Portland.
- Built as Oregon Railway & Navigation by Baldwin in May of 1905, P-2 class, construction number 25717, and unless I'm mistaken it was a compound originally. Heavily rebuilt under Union Pacific ownership in 1920's, received new cylinders and other modifications, renumbered 3203, and I believe re-classed as a P-77. Retired from service in 1957, and placed on display at Oaks Park in Portland. This was the last of the steam engines removed from this location for restoration in 1996.
