General Notes:
- LA&SL 6084-6086 were built as Las Vegas & Tonapah Railroad 30-32 (to UP specifications); to SPLA&SL 3675-3677 in 1916; to LA&SL 6084-6086 in 1921.
- Las Vegas & Tonapah Railroad was organized on September 22, 1905, just nine months after SPLA&SL was completed through what would later become Las Vegas, Nevada. The City of Las Vegas came into existence on May 15, 1905 when the railroad auctioned off 1200 building lots. LV&T was owned by William Clark and his partners, who also owned SPLA&SL. Construction on the LV&T started in January 1906 and was completed 198 miles north at Goldfield in October 1907. LV&T owned a total of 16 locomotives, and the railroad shut down operations in late October 1918. The three Brooks 2-8-0s shown above were built to UP's specifications; leased to LV&T by Union Pacific Equipment Association; and returned to UP (LA&SL) ownership in 1917 upon cancellation of the lease due to non-payment.
