Union Pacific July 1998 Locomotive Fleet Changes

Here is the data I have so far on UP's new 2380 series, including info from Ken Ardinger. All are owned by LLPX and will supposedly be GP38s rebuilt to GP38-2s by VMV. I assume the ex-NS units will have their high short hoods chopped.

As of 15 July 1998, all SW10s at Salt Lake City were side-lined and replaced by SW1500s, MP15DCs and MP15ACs, of SP heritage. The SW10s are said to be too light for the increased switching that is taking place, at the combined ex-UP North Yard and ex-D&RGW Roper Yard. LLPX 157 (MP15DC) is also assigned to Salt Lake.
