UP 445-447 EMD 7200-7202 SD24 Aug 1960 Aug 1961 Painted in SP "Bloody Nose" gray and red scheme; first operated on SP.
UP 448 EMD 5579 SD24 Jul 1958 Sep 1962 First SD24 built (see photo in Our GM Scrapbook for original, as-built configuration); rebuilt to production SD24 configuration in August 1960 and repainted to a different demonstrator paint scheme.
UP 620, 621 GE 750A, 750D UM20B Sep 1954 Apr 1960 First operated on Erie Railroad, painted in Erie colors. GE 750A was equipped with an 8 cylinder 1200 horsepower engine; GE 750D was equipped with a 12 cylinder 1800 horsepower engine; both units rebuilt by GE in October 1959 with 12 cylinder 2000 horsepower engines.
UP 620B, 621B GE 750B, 750C UM20B Sep 1954 Apr 1960 First operated on Erie Railroad, painted in Erie colors. GE 750B was equipped with an 8 cylinder 1200 horsepower engine; GE 750C was equipped with a 12 cylinder 1800 horsepower engine; both units rebuilt by GE in October 1959 with 12 cylinder 2000 horsepower engines. Retired in October 1963.
UP 633-636 GE 2501-2504 U25B Feb 1962 Jul 1962 UP 633/GE 2501 was equipped with low short hood, other three units equipped with high short hood. All 4 units retired in September 1972.
UP 650, 651   Erie A Dec 1945 May 1946 Delivered to UP as 50M-1A, 50M-2A; renumbered to UP 981, 982 in August 1946; renumbered to UP 700, 701 in March 1948; renumbered to 650, 651 in February 1953. Retired in August and May 1961.

UP 1481, 1482 EMD 459A, 459D F7A Oct 1952 Dec 1952 Operated as demonstrators on Norfolk and Western. Retired in May and January 1963.
UP 1496B, 1496C EMD 459B, 459C F7B Oct 1952 Dec 1952 Operated as demonstrators on Norfolk and Western. Retired in December 1962 and January 1963.
UP 1483 EMD 5040 F7A Jul 1950 Jan 1953 Retired.in June 1964.
UP 3040-3047 EMD 434A to H SD40X Feb 1965 Dec 1966 Built as test bed locomotives for EMD's then-new 645 engine. Operated in an all-black paint scheme with unit nujbers in white on the cab sides. EMD 434A, 434B operated in Canada as GMDL 7001, 7002; EMD 434c, 434D operated in Mexico; all four units returned to U. S. in December 1966.
