Paint Schemes

Diesel locomotives assigned to Ore Haulage Department were painted green with yellow ends and yellow lettering panels.

Diesel locomotives assigned to the Bingham mine were painted a darker yellow, with large numbers in black.

On October 6 to 10, 1978, I took advantage of Kennecott Copper GP39-2 788 being in UP's Salt Lake shops, for warranty repairs (by EMD) of its trucks.
