City of Los Angeles/City of Portland (Former M-10004)
In 1938, the M-10004 City of Los Angeles set was rebuilt and the consist changed and was renumbered. Over the years there were other changes made to the consist, including hte addition of some of the cars from the M-10002 set. In 1941 the train was transferred to the City of Portland route, where it remained in service until 1947.

On August 12, 1939, the new City of San Francisco derailed and many of the cars were severely damaged, some to the point that they had to be replaced. A temporary train was put into service until the regular consist could be returned to service.

In 1960, the City of Los Angeles and City of San Francisco were combined between Chicago and Ogden, where they split to go their separate ways and in 1964, the City of St. Louis was combined with the City of Los Angeles. "City of Everywhere" March 1971
Some of the last Union Pacific Streamliner consists were these from 1971. By this time, the City of Los Angeles, City of San Francisco, City of Portland and City of Denver ran as a single train out of Chicago, dropping off the cars for each of the trains at the appropriate stops. The combined train was unofficially known as the "City of Everywhere." The consist on the left is from the combined westbound City of Los Angeles/City of Portland/City of Denver #103 at Omaha on March 24, 1971 (by this time the City of San Francisco only ran tri-weekly). The consist at the right is from the combined westbound City of Los Angeles/City of San Francisco/City of Portland/City of Denver #103 at Omaha on March 25, 1971.
